Join Tobacco Free for a Healthy NJ, Counter Tools, and Sustainable Jersey for a webinar to learn more about how your local municipality can achieve a “Tobacco Free Community” designation through the Sustainable Jersey program. A municipality can earn points towards the Tobacco-Free Community Designation by pursuing specific tobacco prevention and control initiatives. This webinar will empower and educate community leaders to initiate evidence-based point-of-sale policies to help reduce tobacco-related disparities, decrease tobacco use and dependence, and reduce tobacco product exposure.
Goals/Learning Objectives:
1)To confidently understand the tobacco-related point-of-sale policies that can qualify for tobacco-free community points under the Sustainable Jersey program.
2)To equip participants with the framing and key talking points to engage in communication with local leaders and community members around POS policies, including local tobacco retailer licensing.
3)To analyze approaches for maintaining sustainable programs for local tobacco retailer licensing and compliance monitoring, as well as strategies for addressing violations.
This webinar will be led by four experts in their fields, representing the Sustainable Jersey Program, a national non-profit focusing on point-of-sale policies (Counter Tools), and Tobacco Free for a Healthy New Jersey. Slides will be accompanied by discussion of real-world implementation of policies followed by a question-and-answer portion.
