About this event
Regional Public Health Tabletop Exercise Participant Registration -
Coffee and bagels will be provided to exercise participants.
NJACCHO is sponsoring a series of four-hour tabletop exercises, made possible through a grant from the NJ Department of Health. These exercises will focus on response actions related to an infectious disease outbreak. While public health is the primary focus, an effective response in this scenario will involve
emergency management, hospitals, school districts, and social services / human services agencies, all of which are invited to participate. Each exercise will follow the same scenario. Participants are invited to attend whichever session works best for them, and all players will respond to the scenario as if it were in their jurisdiction. The purpose of these exercises is to promote multi-agency coordination, test current emergency response plans, and provide recommendations for future preparedness endeavors across the state.
Exercise Objectives
1. Demonstrate multi-agency operational coordination and information sharing for an infectious disease outbreak.
2. Establish a risk communication strategy for public and media engagement during the incident.
3. Determine and implement medical countermeasures (MCMs) and nonpharmaceutical interventions to minimize the rate of infection within the population.
4. Utilize public health surveillance systems to guide epidemiological investigation.
3.5 Public Health continuing education credit has been approved.
