About this event

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH) will facilitate this training for health officials across the state of New Jersey around risk communication for infectious diseases, with a goal of sharing tactics to ensure that clear, concise, and consistent information is being shared before, during, and after public health emergencies.

Learning objectives to include: Building credibility, Tactics for effective, inclusive messaging, Communicating across multiple channels. Identifying key stakeholders and vulnerable groups.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to: Understand the role of communication and its importance in a crisis situation Identify and employ a range of tactics to bolster current communication plans Develop components of a risk communications plan, including key messages for specific stakeholders (public, government partners, other health officials, etc.) Conduct post-crisis analysis to mitigate future emergencies
